The you will board the Spirit of Columbia for a 3 night cruise into Prince William Sound. You'll see places where no human dwells and experiece the awesome power nature's renewing forces. TOUR ITINERARY

	Day/Port	Description




	Day 1 Fairbanks	Arrive in Fairbanks and transfer from the airport to Pike's Waterfront Lodge. Meet your fellow traveling companions for a casual wine and cheese reception.



	Day 2 Fairbanks to Denali	Sightseeing today in Fairbanks includes an authentic sternwheeler cruise and lunch. Travel by motorcoach to Denali National Park and overnight at a cozy Denali hotel.



	Day 3 Denali	An expert driver guide from the Park helps you look for wildlife as you travel deep into Denali National Park on the Tundra Wilderness Tour. Many optional adventures, such as flightseeing and white water rafting, are available. Later, enjoy the Music of Denali Dinner Theater. Overnight in Denali.



	Day 4 Denali to Anchorage	Board a luxury domed railcar to Talkeetna. There, take a motorcoach to Anchorage and stay overnight at the Sheraton Hotel.



	Day 5 Anchorage to Whittier	Travel by motorcoach along scenic Tournaigan Arm. Pass through tunnels under the Chugach Mountains to the port of Whittier.

	Day 5 Whittier	Board the Spirit of Columbia to begin your Prince William Sound Exploration.



	Day 6 College Fjord & Esther Passage	Wake up near the face of Harvard Glacier at the very end of College Fjord. Dozens of glaciers of all types pour from the mountains to the sea here – a landscape straight out of the Ice Age. The most impressive sight you can hope to see is skyscraper-sized pinnacles of ice plunging from the glaciers into the water. Continue on to narrow Esther Passage, a waterway only small ships can navigate. Watch for orcas, sea otters, and bald eagles here; your Captain knows where the best sightings will be found. In Eaglek Bay you may welcome onboard a local oyster farmer, who will share tales of her unique life in the wilderness.



	Day 7 Chenega Glacier and Knight Island	Today explore southwest Prince William Sound, where sculpted wilderness islands lie offshore from the craggy mountains of the Kenai Peninsula. Narrow Icy Bay leads toward a stunning glacier experience at the head of the fjord. Watch for seals on the icebergs and mountain goats on the cliff faces. Later, enjoy “gunkholing” around the nearby islands - a term for poking around the next corner just to see what’s there.



	Day 8 Whittier/Anchorage	After a cruise past a kittiwake colony, disembark the Spirit of Columbia at Whittier. Transfer to a motorcoach for your trip via Turnagain Arm back to Anchorage. Sightseeing includes the Alaska Native Heritage Center. Dinner and overnight at the Sheraton.

	Day/Port	Description




	Day 9 Juneau	Fly from Anchorage to Juenau. Transfer to the Goldbelt Hotel hospitality suite in preparation for your cruise. The hotel's convenient waterfront locale is a perfect base for exploring Alaska's beautiful capital city, one of the most popular cruise ship ports in Alaska. Accessible only by air or sea, Juneau sits in a rainforest with the Mendehall Glacier in its backyard. Board your ship to begin your cruise down the Gastineau Channel.



	Day 10 Skagway & Haines	Relive the Gold Rush in the picturesque setting of Skagway, where many of the early gold seekers set off with dreams of becoming rich. Catch the Skagway Streetcar for a tour of this charming town. Head down mountain-lined Lynn Canal for a visit to Haines, situated on a quiet bay under the Chilkat Mountains. Learn the Haines history and Native culture at Fort William H. Seward. Haines is also known for its large concentration of eagles and its artist populationm with works displayed in local galleries.



	Day 11 Glacier Bay	Enter a 3.3 million acre nature wonderland where a National Park Service Ranger will come onboard to offer information on the flora and fauna of this impressive region. Over 200 species of fish are found in Park waters, including all five species of Pacific salmon. About 220 species of birds have been recorded in the Park as well as large populations of land mammals. Have you binoculars and camera on deck as the Ranger helps you look for mountain goats, brown and black bears, coyote, wolverine, moose, harbor seals, puffins and murres.



	Day 12 Icy Strait - Captain's Choice Cruising	The annual summer conjunction of currents, bottom topography and tidal energy causes and extraordinary bloom of plankton to occur. This bloom creates a biological richness that attracts humpbacks and other marine mammals like seal lions and seals. Captain's Choice cruising may also include inflatable excursion craft outings or bow landings from the Spirit of Alaska, to look for wildlife like brown bear, Sitka black-tailed deer abd wolves in the old-growth forests of Sitka spruce and western hemlock. You may also see playful otters, and bald eagles.



	Day 13 Juneau	Disembark in Juneau. If you have time before your flight, we'll give you ideas for exploring this interesting capital city. Transfer to the airport for your return flight home.
